Raindrop Lace Socks, in progress, using Claudia's Handpainted Yarn.

This Fiber Trends pattern is absolutely terrific. It's easy to memorize and such a no-brainer that this first sock (literally), sprang completed off my needles and I don't remember knitting it. I can foresee it now; for the rest of my life, when I'm holding a ball of sock yarn and patternless, I'll think, 'Oh, I'll use that Fiber Trends pattern again!' This yarn is also super comfortable once knitted up and on the foot. I'm looking forward to enjoying these socks this fall.

My 'Wrap Sweater with Sleeves' on the other hand (now on less slippery bamboo needles), is not going to be so painless. I love the fisherman's rib, but so far I have come up with NO EASY WAY to correct a dropped stitch using fisherman's rib with such fluffy yarn, and any mistakes mean that I must tink back carefully and remain as patient and calm as I possibly can. I've only done this once so far. I'd say lesson learned but I'm being so careful to begin with. Fisherman's Rib does not naturally produce beautiful selvages (the weaver in me is aghast), but as this garment will be stretched about the body and tied, I don't think it will matter.

Love both the colours and the pattern for the sock!

And that wrap sweater looks intriguing - I'm looking forward to seeing more of it as it grows.

I'm loving the colour in that Claudia's. It's amazing how some socks knit themselves, and others seem to be a big, black hole :-)

Love that sock pattern! I have to look for that & try it. Don't worry about the dropped stitch. It's the little things that make it handmade, if it makes you feel any better, I can't see it in the photo, maybe it's not that bad.

Hey! I just joined Blogger and I thought I would say Hello. I've yet to attempt socks - but you are always an inspiration.
