It's been a very busy few weeks and I may just have been avoiding updating...

I'll begin by mentioning that I joined Purl's Snake-a-long recently. I couldn't resist trying entrelac with the Noro my Secret Pal sent me. It's actually just the type of pattern I need right now - easy to memorize with fast, gratifying results. Thanks to Donni for the invite!

Here is my final package from my Secret Pal, which arrived yesterday. In the box are a sachet, bath goodies, pedicure goodies, note cards, and two skeins of beautiful Merino called 'Claudia's Hand Painted Yarns', and a pattern from Fiber Trends to go with them. I'm pretty thrilled to have a stash of wonderful sock yarns for my summer season in the bush, and this pattern (Raindrop Lace Socks) is definitely next on my list. Thanks for being so thoughtful and indulging my sock obsession so thoroughly Secret Pal! I'm dying to find out who you really are...

Thanks to the hostesses over at Secret Pal 7 for hosting the event. I'll definitely be looking forward to it next fall.

The Olympics Fiasco.

I'll just spill it out. It truly is possible to interpret the following sentence three different ways;

Maintaining welt pattern as established on first 5 and last 5 sts, and cont in St st on center 148 st, inc 1 st each end of needle inside markers on next row, then alternating every 2 and 4 rows (2 sts inc'd each side every 6 rows) for a total of 20 inc rows from CO.

Unfortunately, only one way is right. I think it's that little segment in parentheses which did me in (the 2 stitches inc'd every SIX rows.) Not every four rows. Not every six. I made it all the way to the armholes before I realised my latest error. Now this yarn and this knitter have both come the conclusion that this pattern was not meant to be, at least not this spring. There simply isn't enough time and I'm heading into final projects where I'll have even less time, so a basket weave blanket it shall become instead.

There. Confession made.

Your Snake entrelac scarf is gorgeous!! I'd never seen that pattern before, but I'm absolutely in love with it! The entrelac with the Silk Garden produces such a beautiful effect. You know entranced I am with Noro! And what a fantastic SP package!! I'm so envious of your Claudia's Hand Painted! The colorway is gorgeous.. can't wait to see the socks you knit up with it. They're bound to be beautiful and luxurious. I'm so happy that you received such an awesome package! Take care, Say! :-)

Hello! Back in January you visited my site and gave me the link for the knitty clapotis. I recently finished it, and I've got a picture of it in my post today (3/31/06).

I've been visiting your site from time to time, and I love to look at the beautiful things you do with fiber!

Thank you! :-)
