In lieu of knitting, I have been weaving a lot this week past week. We're doing twill studies. I think I'm becoming addicted to them. I'm using a sticky smelly tweedy wool and all sorts of bright colours.

Going a little crazier...

Hopefully I'll exhaust my compulsion to weave by the opening ceremonies. At least I managed to cast on and start my second Estonian Sock.

I don't think I'll get much farther than that - not with the Knitting Olympics looming. Which reminds me, I'd better get my Team Canada button up soon. I hail originally from New England, but I live up here now and well, it's more fun to root for the Canadian hockey team, and Becky Scott and Cindy Klassen. Fortunately, CBC carries the Olympics live full time (and recaps when it's not on) and I'm looking forward to knitting and watching things like cross country skiing.

John expressed concerns the other night that I wouldn't have our friend's baby gift ready in time. And I said, "No don't worry. I'm doing it for the Knitting Olympics."

And he simply said, "Okay."

Heh. After a great deal of initial mockery, words like 'Secret Pal' and 'Knitting Olympics' and 'Knitalongs' now fit into his everyday vocabulary. Yesterday he actually asked me when I was going to 'block' the ends of the recently finished Clapotis so that he can send it off to out sister-in-law.

That weaving is gorgeous! And best of luck to you in the Knitting Olympics! I have to admit I am really looking forward to watching curling (I'll have to tape it, it's on at like 4 a.m. here) and no one down here in the states gets it. Makes me wish I was a little bit Canadian? Then maybe people would understand? :)

Your weaving is so beautiful!! You always have such gorgeous and interesting projects going on over here. It's so funny when the SO's in our life start dropping knitting/blogging lingo like second nature. ;-) The Olympics will be a perfect way to get that layette completed! I'll be cheering you on...even if you *are* knitting for team Canada. ;-) Just kidding! Take care! :-)

Wow - it makes my beginner Knitters Loom efforts look so lame - what sort of loom is that? I am a learner loomer.
