I was bad yesterday... I splurged

I can almost justify it all. It's my birthday in just over a week and the green slubby wool is for a poncho for me. The rovings I can't justify as I have neither a drop spindle nor a spinning wheel at the moment. I just couldn't help it. They were screaming "Buy me! We may never be here in these colours EVER again!"

I also finished my shrigas style bag. I didn't work the stripes in neatly on purpose and now I'm wondering why I didn't. Also, I would/might double the suggested strap sizes. It needs some type of simple closure at the top. Not a drawstring but a wooden button maybe? Just enough of a pinch to 'discourage' items from tumbling out.

I really like the bottom of it.

At the moment, it wants to hold my ever-spreading yarn stash.

You know, I'm not sure if cats can be born with a 'crafty' gene, but the complexities of this arrangement impressed me. Maybe Willa was attempting to wind a warp with the chair feet. Or making a knot sampler.

Ooooh, it looks lovely!! And you are completely right, pre-birthday treats are a necessity! :)

And aren't cats funny. Ours seem to ignore the yarn most of the time but feel compelled to lie on my lap whenever I sit somewhere, knitting. I think it's the staring down at the knitting... they want to be the object of your attention. Right now, Kipper, our black cat, is lying in his favourite spot - in front of the keyboard, encircled by my arms as I type... ;-)
