I don't know where the time goes. Truly! Or why I have so few items knitted. And I have a secret. I hate pink. I hate pastels. I hate little ducks and bunnies and baby prints.

My anti-pastel baby blanket (which is really just a version of the Moderne Baby Blanket). I'd never tried log cabin knitting before, and it was fun to try something new.

Anti-duck and bunny onesies.

I used my old screens from screenprinting. Instead of ducks and bunnies, I have ice crystals, cantaloupe skins, frost and algae.

We're nearing the arrival date of the wee alienette and preparing to move to a larger place mid-December. I'm still feeling good and working out at the gym, although my lungs are beginning to feel squashed when I'm doing nothing more than sitting. And I'm wondering how much art a new mom can realistically accomplish with a newborn? Or knitting? Or anything? So far, my only goal for those first three months is to watch all ten seasons of the X-Files. I figure it just might be realistic. It will be the coldest part of winter and I'll be spending a lot of time on the couch.

As distracted as I've been, I do have some new work.

Ummm.... furry little monsters.

A pile of unfinished spiculi.

We went to Quebec City back in October. It was my birthday present/our last getaway before the wee alienette arrives. It was lovely and the weather was perfect. We ate far too much of everything - Quebec City is definitely the place to do that.

This gallery of photos would not be complete without a picture from the world's awesomest bathroom with heated tiles, brick walls and massive sunken tub.

Glad to hear you are doing well and hope the move will go according to plan.

I LOVE the baby onesies - much much better than bunnies and teddy bears! ;-)

And Quebec looks so beautiful. I really hope I'll make it to your part of the world someday... Maybe when the little ones are a bit older and a longhaul flight doesn't sound so utterly impossible anymore!

Oh, it's so good to hear that you are doing well. You look great! I'm with you on the anti bunny/ducky/infant pastel blah....we avoided all of that with our kids and still have to quickly "donate" any clothing they receive with characters on them. It's awful when kids become little billboards. Your creations, as always, inspire.

Don't worry. You will still have the time to create things. I think the biggest challenge as a creative parent is just accepting it has to often be done in spurts rather than stretches. But I have two and we have another on the way due in April and still manage to get quite a bit done. In fact since we have become parents my husband finally wrote his first novel which he could never seem to get done before kids. It seems like your partner is really supportive of your endeavors and I think that is such a big help. Someone who "gets" that you need that creative time/space is priceless.

Best wishes to you guys!

I've always loved the look of Quebec - wish to go there one day.

Not long now now and you won't ever remember life without the alien. It's a lovely journey that gets easier as it goes along.

I have a friend who most of the times dresses her one year old son in black. He's the coolest kid I know and doesn't miss the bunnies or teddy bears ever! Good to hear you are doing ok. Quebec looks lovely and your art as always is fantastic!

Bunnies are overrated. ;o) You look great! Congrats again - and don't worry, you'll accomplish far more than you think. :o)
